Ryan and Albert talk about The Strokes, 2009
Rolling Stone: | I hear that one of the new songs, Ask Me Anything, came to you in a dream? |
Julian Casablancas: | Yeah – although I’m still trying to sort this one out. See, the song in my dream was a little faster than the one that made the record. So much so that I thought it was a Scissor Sisters song. I remember thinking, “man, that’s such a cool song,” -it just really blew my mind. It took me a while to realise I’d made it up myself. The thing is, I could see the Scissor Sisters guy [Jake Shears] singing it, looking into the camera, saying, ‘I got nothing to say, I got nothing to say’ over and over. It really fucked with my head, but I liked it. |

Julian Casablancas: | I think I’ve only read two books like front page to last page in my entire life. |
Interviewer: | Which two? |
Julian Casablancas: | The Odyssey and Crime And Punishment. |
